Crater Lake Saddle

This is one of three primitive backcountry campsites along Forest Road 301 on the south side of the Grandmother Mountain WSA and is the gateway to Crater Lake.

Directions: 24 miles east of Clarkia, Idaho
From State Highway 3 at Clarkia, take Forest Road 301 east for 24 miles

Facilities/Fees:

  • No fees 
  • No garbage collection – pack out own trash 
  • Use Season: July through September 
  • Primitive campground 
  • Vault toilet
