Travel Management Plan

The Challis Field Office has nearly 800,000 acres of central Idaho public lands under its jurisdiction. The Challis Resource Management Plan (RMP) recommended that the BLM complete a travel plan within five years. Changes in BLM’s staff and boundaries delayed the start of a Travel Management Plan until today. A Travel Management Plan takes the information from the RMP, and builds on it to create a plan for administration and maintenance that the staff can follow from day to day. Most importantly, a Travel Management Plan designates a system of roads and trails for people to use.
