Big and Little Jacks Creeks 
Wilderness Study Areas

Magnificent 1,000-foot canyons tower over meandering creeks that provide outstanding high-desert scenery, solitude and many recreational opportunities. The area encompasses 150,000 acres.

Location: East of Owyhee Mountains and northwest of Grasmere.  Other locations of interest may be Little Jacks Creek Trail, Parker Trail, Duncan Creek Trail, Tindall Trail, Roberson Trail East and Roberson Trail West.

Facilities/Fees:

  • More than 100 miles of hiking opportunities
  • No developed or maintained trails
  • Good navigation and map-reading skills required
  • Best hiking weather: September through mid-November
