Tindal Trail Hike

This trail provides easy access to a beautiful stretch of Sheep Creek, at its confluence with Mary’s Creek. Make this a longer hike by going from the parking spot near the kiosk at the junction of Mary’s Creek and the main road, along the rimrock above Mary’s Creek to the Tindall Trail, and then down to Sheep Creek.

Directions: Drive Hwy 51 south of Bruneau . 0.4 miles south of Grasmere take a left/east on Roland Road. Reset trip odometer immediately.

Non-high clearance vehicle directions:
0.0 Roland Road at Hwy 51
5.0 Left/north onto two-track.
5.2 Park.
• Hike either northwest from parking area to the top of the rimrock and follow the canyon north 3.5 miles, or backtrack to Roland Road and head 0.4 miles back northwest toward Grasmere taking a right/east turn onto a two-track that will take you 3.3 miles to the Tindall Trail proper.

High-clearance vehicle directions:
0.0 Roland Road at Hwy 51
4.6 Left/east onto two-track.
7.1 Left/east at Y.
7.9 Park.

Navigating the Trail: 0.54 miles, 560’ vertical.

  • Descent the gully to the left/northeast of parking spot.
  • Walk right/south past the rimrock and find trail 50’ below rimrock contouring right/southeast.
