Duncan Creek Trail/Zeno Canyon Hike

This hike presents scenic views of Duncan Creek as you wind through stands of aspen and brush and descend down a steep drop. Hikers will ultimately reach the floor of Zeno Canyon with a spectacular view of a cascading waterfall. For hikers seeking a longer, rugged hike, an 8-mile roundtrip trek is also possible if visitors head north along Duncan Creek to the Buncel Place.

Directions: On Hwy 51 head south from Bruneau 25 miles to MP 45 and continue 0.1 miles south, head right/west on Wickahoney Road (unmarked).
Head north on Hwy 51 from Grasmere 11 miles to MP 44 and continue 0.9 miles north, head left/west onto Wickahoney Road (unmarked). Reset trip odometer immediately.

21.8 Right/east. You have been descending until this point. When the road heads uphill, take either of two rights. All three two tracks coming off the east side of the north/south road funnel to the trailhead. Continue in about .5 miles to end of road. A wet spring-fed meadow lies ahead.

Navigating the Trail: 0.4 miles to arête, 0.5 miles to canyon floor. 460’ vertical.
• Head southeast across three spring-fed meadows on the right/south side of the gully leading to Zeno Canyon.
• Where two creeks converge, contour the right/south wall of the gully staying 75’-150’ from the gully floor.
• Upon reaching the talus, either walk onto the arête or veer right and take chute to valley floor via the steep, loose scree field.
