Fishing

Many fishing opportunities are available throughout the Bruneau Field Office and along the Jarbidge and Bruneau Rivers.

This area has so many fishing spots that it doesn't take long for fishing enthusiasts to discover their own secret, special locations. In many streams, fishermen will find cold-water fishery including redband and rainbow trout. High numbers of Redband trout are found in the Deep Creek area, while the Little and Big Jacks Creeks host smaller populations. CJ Strike Reservoir is one of the area's major destinations for fishermen seeking bass and other warm-water species. CJ Strike is located in the Snake River Birds of Prey Conservation area and the land surrounding it is jointly managed by BLM, Idaho Power and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
