In February 2010, two annual motorcycle races are scheduled on public lands located in the Bruneau FO, approximately 60 miles southeast of Boise. The first weekend of February, a 50-mile race will be hosted by Desert Rats, and during the last weekend of February another 50-mile race will be hosted by Desert Raiders Motorcycle Club. Over 200 cyclists participated in each race last year and the same number is expected for the 2010 races. For more information, call the BLM Boise District Office at (208) 384-3300.
The Owyhee and Bruneau Field Offices offer outstanding opportunities for a wide range of OHV recreation, including single track for OHV motorcycles and wider trails and two-tracks for ATVs and other motorized vehicles. The BLM has established three OHV trailheads along the Owyhee Front that provide loading ramps, staging areas and restrooms. An extensive trail network radiates from each trailhead.
Cross country travel is only allowed in the small immediate vicinity of the Hemingway Butte OHV Trailhead - do not travel cross-country in other areas.

All motorized vehicles should use existing routes or use designated routes where they are established. To protect wildlife, reduce erosion, and prevent the spread of weeds, please don’t travel cross-country or create new vehicle tracks.
