OHV Races

On February 20th, the Desert Raiders motorcycle club race, “The Oreana 100”, is scheduled to take place 10 miles southwest of Grand View, ID in the BLM Bruneau Field Office Competitive Use Area. As many as 200 adult riders and 20 youth are expected to compete on courses, which range from 10, 47 and 95 miles.

On March 7th, the Desert Rats motorcycle club race will take place in the same general area. About 200 adult riders and 20 youth are expected to compete. The length of course is around 50 miles for adults and 10 miles for youth. Both races will start and finish on a section of state land surrounded by BLM-managed public land and are part of a larger series of races sponsored by Southern Idaho Desert Racing Association (SIDRA), an umbrella off-highway vehicle association.

The Owyhee and Bruneau Field Offices offer outstanding opportunities for a wide range of OHV recreation, including single track for OHV motorcycles and wider trails and two-tracks for ATVs and other motorized vehicles.  The BLM has established three OHV trailheads along the Owyhee Front that provide loading ramps, staging areas and restrooms.  An extensive trail network radiates from each trailhead.

Cross country travel is only allowed in the small immediate vicinity of the Hemingway Butte OHV Trailhead - do not travel cross-country in other areas.
