Northern Leopard Frog
Northern leopard frogs have slim green, gray or brown bodies, peppered with leopard-like round, dark spots which are outlined with pale yellow and white. They are medium-sized for frogs, about two to five inches long.
Habitat: Northern leopard frogs like to live near water and near grasslands so they can forage for insects, worms, and other frogs at night. A field near a permanent body of water will usually contain many young froglets in mid to late summer. When fall arrives, these little frogs hibernate on the bottom of ponds through the winter months.

Food: These amphibians will eat just about anything! They hunt by sitting still and waiting for their prey to happen by, then they pounce on their meal with powerful hind legs. Meals are usually made up of beetles, ants, flies, worms, smaller frogs, and even birds and garter snakes.
Fun Facts: Leopard frogs can leap five to six feet in a zig-zag pattern to avoid capture.
