Places to See

The Bruneau Field Office contains some of the most spectacular and untouched high desert landscapes in the United States.  From the sweeping plateaus and towering canyons of the Owyhee Canyonlands, to the solitude of the Big and Little Jacks Creek area, to the excellent wildlife viewing along the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway, there are memorable vistas and experiences around each turn.

Congress recently designated three Wilderness areas in the Field Office: the Big Jacks Creek Wilderness, Little Jacks Creek Wilderness, and the Bruneau-Jarbidge Rivers Wilderness.  The waterways through much of these Wilderness areas were also designated as Wild & Scenic Rivers.
