BLM Matches Weanlings Gathered from Soda Fire with Local 4-H Groups for Gentling and Adoption
Did you know....The weanling training program is a unique partnership between the BLM and the University of Idaho 4-H Extension Program. The 4-H clubs gain horsemanship experience and are able to add value to these young horses by gentling them and getting them used to being handled, which tends to benefit future adopters. Since 2009, 4-H clubs in Idaho have trained and gentled more than 250 young horses, raising more than $15,000 for 4-H clubs statewide. Learn more. Check out our photo gallery on Flickr!
