Meadowood Equestrian Facility
The BLM is currently working through the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process to develop proposed actions for the equestrian facility that will include safe and improved public access. The NEPA process will also help to determine whether to rehabilitate or replace the current facility, identify equestrian activities for public participation, and address environmental and watershed issues. Recent actions include steps taken to mitigate barn safety concerns, including increasing siding and column supports, installing a new waterline, covering the electrical panel, and labeling non-potable water sources. The BLM will consider public comments and concerns that may help to develop proposed actions for equestrian recreational opportunities at Meadowood. The deadline for initial scoping comments was July 29, 2011; however, there will be additional opportunity for public comment as BLM proceeds with its analysis. Comments may be submitted via email or U.S. Postal Service at the contact sites listed below. Please revisit this website for future updates. Plans for this site include sharing documents relevant to the project as they become available. Comments will become part of the public record and subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
