Sheboygan River

A small cluster of islands, locally known as Wildwood Islands, had once been one very larg island.  The BLM has partnered with the city of Sheboygan, the state of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the University of Wisconsin-Extension, and the Sheboygan River Basin Partnership, to restore wildlife habitat on the island by regrading portions of the island cluster to prevent erosion, thereby controlling reed canary grass, common reeed grass, buchthorn, and other invasive species.  This partnership is also erecting nesting structures.
