NOTICE: Meadowood Trails Closed to Horses  

Meadowood Recreation Area trails will be CLOSED to horses on Friday , Sept. 26 - ALL DAY and Saturday, Sept. 27, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. A local school will be holding a cross-country race on the trails. Other trail users should expect to encounter groups of students running on the trails.  


 


Nature Watchers at a lake at Meadowood Farms

Meadowood Recreation on Mason Neck in southern Fairfaix County, Virginia 

Meadowood offers 6 miles of hiking and horse riding trails including an universally accessible trail to Hidden Pond, two fishing ponds, 800 acres of forest and meadows, environmental education programs, horse boarding stable, geocaching, picnicking and bird watching.


Lower Potomac Field Office Potomac River Shoreline

Douglas Point Recreation Area in Charles County, Maryland

Douglas Point offers 3 miles of trails for hiking, horse riding, hunting, and mountain biking, 548 acres of hardwood forest and marshes, picnicking, Potomac River shoreline, universally accessible historical interpretative walk and hunting blind.  Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail segment and water trail stop.

    The recreation areas are open seven days a week year round
