BLM will expedite completion of the ongoing Energy Policy Conservation Act (EPCA) study of impediments to federal oil and gas exploration and development.

The EPCA inventory, “Scientific Inventory of Onshore Federal Lands’ Oil and Gas Resources and Reserves and the Extent and Nature of Restrictions or Impediments to their Development” http://www.blm.gov/energy/epca.htm, was released on January 16, 2003 for the following basins: Powder River, Greater Green River, Paradox/San Juan, Uinta/Piceance Basins, and the Montana Thrust Belt.
