Urban Treehouse

Treehouses are in trees, right? Not necessarily! There is an exciting environmental education program called "Urban Treehouse" popping up in cities across America. Urban Treehouses may be built in a park with trees, or in other green spaces in the city. But one thing is certain; you will be able to learn about nature, and even about trees, at an Urban Treehouse.

Urban Treehouses are simple, environmental education structures built outdoors in the city. Every Urban Treehouse is different. But they all teach environmental education and they all have been developed and are operated by partnerships consisting of government agencies, (like BLM), businesses, community groups, and nonprofit organizations.

There are five Urban Treehouses so far. They are in Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, Georgia; Portland, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
