The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has free-of-charge teacher packets available for distribution. The packets, tailored to grade level, include information on maps, mapping sciences, and history. Topographic maps and the free packets can be ordered from the USGS Earth Science Information Center, 507 National Center, Reston, VA 22092; tel. 800-872 6277.
