BLM ACCEPTING PUBLIC COMMENTS ON A GRAZING PERMIT

RENEWAL ASSESSMENT IN

CANYONS OF THE ANCIENTS NATIONAL MONUMENT

The Bureau of Land Management is now accepting public comment on an Environmental Assessment (EA) that evaluates the potential effects of renewing a permit for livestock grazing within the Sandstone Allotment (#08013) on public lands administered by the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. The allotment covers approximately 22,699 acres of public lands within the Monument boundaries. The reference number for this EA is CO-800-2004-021.

Written comments must be received by no later than Friday, March 28, 2008. Comments should be addressed to Monument Manager, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, 27501 Hwy 184, Dolores, CO 81323. The EA can be reviewed online at the Monument website at: www.co.blm.gov/canm/index
