BLM Southwest Resource Advisory Council
to meet January 20 at Canyons of the Ancients

DOLORES, CO—The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet January 20 at the Anasazi Heritage Center, BLM Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, located at 27501 Hwy 184 in Dolores.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to adjourn at 4 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, with a public comment period scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Agenda topics include:

· 9:00 a.m., Opening Remarks
· 9:30 a.m., New Member Welcome and Introductions
· 9:45 a.m., Field Manager Updates
· 10:20 a.m., Update on National Energy Policy Act
· 11:30 a.m., BLM Lease Sale Notification
· 1:30 p.m., Statewide Special Recreation Permit Application Fee
· 1:45 p.m., BLM Law Enforcement—Dealing with Vandalism
· 2:30 p.m., Public Comment Period
· 3:00 p.m., San Miguel Working Group: Gunnison Sage Grouse

The Southwest RAC is one of three advisory councils to BLM Colorado. Composed of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, individuals serving in each RAC represent a broad range of public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
