Announces Advisory Committee Meeting
The Canyons of the Ancients National Monument Advisory Committee will hold a meeting on May 19, 2004. This meeting will be held at the Anasazi Heritage Center in Dolores, Colorado from 9:00am to 3:30pm.
This meeting is open to the public. The purpose of the Committee is to advise the Secretary of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) on the development and implementation of a resource management plan for the Monument.
At this meeting, BLM will offer an update of the Monument planning process. Also on the agenda will be discussion of planning issues and management concerns, planning alternatives, and other issues as appropriate.
At these meetings, time is set aside at about 3:00 p.m. for interested persons to make oral statements or submit written statements. Time limits for oral statements may be necessary to make sure all those interested have an opportunity to speak. At the end of the meetings, members will discuss the agenda for next meeting.
