Canyons of the Ancients National Monument Advisory Committee Announces Winter Meeting Dates

The BLM Canyons of the Ancients National Monument Advisory Committee will hold six meetings this winter and early spring at the Anasazi Heritage Center in Dolores, Colorado. Meetings will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on January 6, January 27, February 17, March 9, March 30, and April 13, 2004.

Agenda items will include updates on the Monument planning process, and discussion of planning issues and alternatives, management concerns, partnerships, research, and other issues. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to advise the Secretary of the Interior and BLM on the development and implementation of a resource management plan for the Monument.

All meetings are open to the public. Time will be set aside about 2:30 p.m. at each meeting for interested persons to make oral statements or submit written statements. Time limits for oral statements may be necessary to make sure all those interested have an opportunity to speak. At the end of the meetings, members will discuss the agenda for next meeting.
