For Immediate Release A draft Environmental Assessment describing the proposed installation of seven interpretive signs at Sand Canyon Pueblo is now available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The signs are for the purposes of visitor education and cultural site enhancement. Sand Canyon Pueblo is located approximately 14 miles northwest of Cortez, Colorado, within Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, and is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Copies of this document are available on the Canyons of the Ancients website: www.co.blm.gov/canm/sancan.htm or at the BLM--Anasazi Heritage Center, 27501 Highway 184, Dolores, CO 81323. Comments should be submitted in written form and addressed to LouAnn Jacobson, Monument Manager either to the Anasazi Heritage Center address or by email to Colorado_CANM@co.blm.gov The deadline for comments is July 30, 2002.
