The Dominguez-Escalante NCA Resource Management Plan
|The BLM released the draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area for public review on May 17, 2013. This initiated a public comment period, which ended on September 23, 2013. |
| ||Next public meeting on the RMP: January 22, 2014, in Grand Junction. For more information, go to the Advisory Council page.|
The next step in the RMP planning process is preparation of the Proposed RMP. The BLM will consider the comments it received during the public comment period and make changes to the draft RMP. These changes will then be incorporated in the Proposed RMP. See the RMP background page for an overview of the planning process.
Once the RMP has been finalized, it will guide the BLM's management of all facets of the D-E NCA for the next several decades. This includes land use decisions regarding biological resources, cultural resources, wilderness, recreation, travel management, livestock grazing, and special designations such as wild and scenic rivers.
