The Dominguez-Escalante NCA Resource Management Plan

The BLM released the draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area for public review on May 17, 2013.  This initiated a public comment period, which ended on September 23, 2013.

The BLM expects to release the Proposed RMP and Final EIS for a 30-day protest period in the Fall of 2015.

The RMP will be finalized with the Approved RMP and Record of Decision expected in early 2016.

Next public meeting on the RMP will take place when the Proposed RMP is released.  Please check back here.  For more information, go to the Advisory Council page.

The current step in the RMP planning process is preparation of the Proposed RMP. The BLM has considering the comments it received during the public comment period and made changes to the draft RMP. These changes have been incorporated in the Proposed RMP. See the RMP background page for an overview of the planning process.

Once the RMP has been finalized, it will guide the BLM's management of all facets of the D-E NCA for the next several decades. This includes land use decisions regarding biological resources, cultural resources, wilderness, recreation, travel management, livestock grazing, and special designations such as wild and scenic rivers.
