May 2012 Oil and Gas Lease Sale Information: The May lease sale includes 30 parcels totaling 30,694 acres within the White River Field Office. For more information, including maps, click here.

Resource Management Plan:  The Colorado State BLM Director approved the Record of Decision (ROD) and White River Resource Management Plan (RMP) on July 1, 1997.  Click on the link below to view the ROD, RMP, Amendments, associated planning documents, and environmental analyses.

Resource Management Plan Amendment:  White River Field Office is working on a plan amendment and associated EIS that will address the potential impacts of significant increases in oil and gas development within the 1.5 million acre field office over the next 20 years.

NEPA Register: The White River Field Office maintains a register of environmental documents prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). These registers and many of the associated documents are available for public review.

 OPEN COMMENT PERIODS

UTE PARK CONNECTOR TRAIL - PHASE 1: The BLM is seeking public comments on Phase 1 of a proposed foot and bicycle trail between Ute Park and Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park near Meeker, Colorado. The Phase 1 trail will spur off the existing trail at Phillip and Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park and terminate at a high point above China Wall on BLM land. Scoping comments help to determine what impacts should be considered.

Comment Period: Through May 29, 2012

Public Meeting: A public scoping meeting to help answer questions and identify potential issues is scheduled for May 22, 2012 at 6pm at the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan (ERBM) Recreation Center, 101 Ute Drive, Meeker, CO 81641.

SECOND ROUND OF OIL SHALE RD&D LEASES

The BLM is accepting public comments on the preliminary environmental assessment for the second round of oil shale RD&D leases through June 16, 2012. Information on how to comment as well as the EA, plan of operations, and maps are available on the WRFO's oil shale website at http://www.blm.gov/co/st/en/fo/wrfo/Oil_Shale_-_Round_2.html.
