WRFO Cultural Recreation

The White River Field Office manages the Canyon Pintado National Historic District (CPNHD) which is a collection of prehistoric archeological sites. Seven of these sites allow public access and provide interpretation of the rich rock art depicted, while simultaneously protecting the panels for future generations. In addition to the sites within the CPNHD, four additional sites along County Road 23 north of Rangely, known as the Dragon Trail, provide interpretive opportunities for the public. Visit the Cultural Resources page for more information.
