NPLD COOL ROCK TRAIL PROJECT - SEPTEMBER 2009
Volunteers (both young and old) contributed a beautiful early fall Saturday to help construct the Cool Rock Trail in Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area. The work involved:
removing an old range fence and other range facilities (including irrigation pipes and water troughs) at the trailhead and along the trail route
rerouting, constructing, and maintaining a two-mile trail in Cool Rock Canyon
constructing and installing a trailhead sign
installing parking barriers (made with boulders or pole fence).
