Booger RedELEVATION: 7,800 feet LOCATION: Approximately 35 miles north from Cañon City ALLOWED USES: hiking, biking, horseback riding MILES OF TRAIL: 5 miles TYPES OF TRAIL: old roads and singletrack |  | SEASON: April - November (this area is closed to motorized vehicles during periods of wet soil conditions. Check here for road status) FACILITIES: parking, information kiosk WATER AVAILABILITY: None CAMPING: Dispersed camping is allowed throughout this area. Please camp only in existing sites and do not create new sites or fire rings. Contact the BLM office for information on current fire bans and please follow all fire restrictions. DIRECTIONS: From Cañon City, travel 9.7 miles west on U.S. Hwy 50 to CO Hwy 9, Take a right and head north for 9 miles. Turn right onto High Park Road (County Road 11). Drive for 14.7 miles before turning right onto BLM road #5808. Follow this through several gates being sure to close each behind you until you get to the trailhead. |
