DESCRIPTION
The area offers outstanding jeep and OHV opportunities. It is popular for dirt bike riding and fossils may be found on the sandstone cliffs. Unfortunately, the area is also popular for illegal trash dumping, and the aesthetics are ruined in places.

ACCESS
Take the by-pass route to Fravert Reservoir about a mile northwest of Rifle, and go about 3 miles past the Forest Service office. The road is graveled part of the way, but turns into dirt which is slippery when wet. Explore the dirt roads but be careful to stay off the intermixed private lands.
