Stay on the trail - follow the switchbacks even if you see a more direct route. Pack out your trash. Pedestrians have the right-of-way over bikers, and both hikers and mountain bikers must yield to horses. Do not disturb wildlife or their habit along the trail. Disturbing wildlife or damaging the environment destroys the trail for all of us.
Keep it SafeAlways tell someone where you will be hiking and your expected return time. Keep an eye to the sky, summer flash flooding or lightning can be deadly.
