ELEVATION CHANGE:   2000' 

LOCATION:   2.6 miles southwest of Grand Junction 

LENGTH OF TRAIL:   5  miles loop 

TECHNICAL LEVEL:    Moderate 

APPROXIMATE TIME TO COMPLETE:   1 - 3 hours 

SEASON:   March - November 

FACILITIES:   None 

DRINKING/STREAM WATER:   None.   Plan to pack in 1 gallon per person, per day. 

DIRECTIONS:   From Grand Junction, travel west on Grand Avenue, which turns into Broadway.  Cross over two bridges, at the next stop light, turn left on to Monument Road.  Turn left just before you cross the ditch on to D Rd.  Travel approximately 1 mile to where D Rd ends, go right on to Little Park Rd.  Travel approximately  2.5 miles to the Little Park Road Staging Area (First Flats) on the left, park here. 

RIDING THE TRAIL:   From the parking area follow the gravel road heading due east.  The gravel road ends at a small turn around, from there take the rocky road downhill, at the fork go left around the base of the hill on to the single track (not up the steep hill).  Enjoy the downhill descent, go left at the junction and after a climb out of the small canyon you'll meet up with Little Park Rd again.  Go left on Little Park Rd heading uphill for approximately 1.5 miles back to the Little Park Rd staging area on your left.
