PROTEST PROCEDURES FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE UNCOMPAHGRE AND GUNNISON FIELD OFFICESAny person who participated in the planning process for the Proposed Amendment to the Uncompahgre Basin and Gunnison Resource Management Plans, and has an interest which is or may be adversely affected, may protest approval of this proposed plan amendment. A letter of protest must be filed in accordance with the planning regulations, 43 CFR 1610.5-2(a)(1). These regulations require that letters of Protest must be in writing and sent to: Director, Bureau of Land Management, The overnight mail address is: Director, Bureau of Land Management, Attention: Miss Brenda Williams, Protests Coordinator, 1620 L Street N.W., Room 1075, Washington, D.C. 20036. Although not a requirement, sending your protest by certified mail, return receipt requested, is recommended. The Protest period ends on May 14, 2001. Protests must be postmarked by this date. A protest shall include the following information:
There is no provision for an extension of time for the filing of protests. Protests filed late, or Protests sent to the Field Manager or State Director, unless also sent to the Director, BLM at one of the above addresses, shall be rejected.
