The BLM Colorado Southwest District is home to three field offices (Gunnison, Tres Rios, and Uncompahgre), Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, two national conservation areas (Gunnison Gorge and portions of Dominguez-Escalante), and numerous wilderness areas, wilderness study areas, and rivers.  These lands are managed for a multitude of resources and resource uses ranging from whitewater rafting to wild horse management to mineral exploration to archaeological discoveries.
