These panels represent a stylistic variation we see at several sites across the region in which a particular theme is used by different cultures. Here, we focus on circle bodied anthropomorphs.
(From left to right) This pictographs features a circle bodied anthropomorph next to a 18th century flintlock pistol. This panel is enigmatic in that the firearm gives a no-earlier than date, yet was pecked in a style mimicking elements of older Fremont styles in the vicinity. This petroglyphs round bodied figure possibly wields a long weapon, and it appears to shows a mounted rider ahead of it in white. Both of these panels are visible at the Cow Canyon site in Canyon Pintado.
