Historic (more than fifty years old) EuroAmerican rock art is not common in the region.

(Clockwise from upper left) This script, visible at the Crook’s Brand site, reads “We are here because we aint in hell but we are on our way”; possibly a date inscription commemorating a significant date in nascent Meeker’s history, this panel overlooks the town and the White River; in Canyon Pintado this “1776” inscription is believed to have been left by the Dominguez Escalante expedition, the first Europeans to traverse the canyon; this panel at State Bridge possesses all the elements of a livestock brand but is not documented in brand records, making its age unknown.
