Expert boaters looking for risk-taking adventures on the Upper Colorado River will love Gore Canyon. Class V whitewater rapids make for some extremely challenging rafting and kayaking. It should be noted that boating is not recommended here without a commercial outfitter. There are several fishing access points along the river, and riparian areas provide opportunities for wildlife viewing and bird watching. For overnight stays, visitors can take advantage of a developed campground at Pumphouse Recreation Site.
