North Fruita Desert Recreation Area

 

The Bookcliffs

With five single-track and double-track trails spanning a total of 83 miles, North Fruita Desert Recreation Area is a popular mountain biking area. In addition, there are 250 miles of off-highway vehicle trails, as well as an open off-highway vehicle area. This region is primarily desert valley floor with washes and sharp ridges.  Visitors will have a spectacular view of the Bookcliffs, a flat-top mountain range located to the north.

Directions: 
From Fruita, travel north on 17 1/2 Road for four miles, and then turn right onto North 3/10 Road. Turn left onto 18 Road and continue for 7.5 miles. The parking lot will be on the left.
