Hack Lake Recreation Area

Hack Lake reflecting scenic hillside

Hack Lake Recreation Area is a very remote hike-in location, ideal for primitive camping. Scenic, rolling ridges are complemented by steep, rugged cliffs with rocky outcrops and rock slides. With a variety of options for backcountry hiking, visitors can enjoy a world of solitude and independence. The Hack Lake-Ute Trail takes hikers through a variety of beautiful landscapes. Fishing is a popular activity here, and there are also opportunities for big-game hunting. Even horseback riding tours are available.
