The illegal poaching of wildlife is a top priority for both CPW and the BLM. To report poachers in Colorado, call CPW toll-free at 1-877-COLO-OGT, Verizon cell phone users can dial #OGT, or contact CPW via e-mail at Operation Game Thief at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Turn in Poachers (TIP) program began September 1st, 2004. This program allows people who turn in poachers to receive preference points or even licenses in some cases. This program was created in addition to the existing Operation Game Thief (OGT) program. The TIP program only applies to reports of illegal take or possession, or willful destruction, of Big Game or Turkey.
Please specify which type of reward you are interested in (OGT or TIP) and help this program be a success.
Illegal guides and outfitters take business away from legal companies permitted to conduct business on your public lands. The BLM and CPW are working together to identify and prosecute illegal guides and outfitters conducting business on public lands without proper authorization. To report a business that is conducting commercial trips on public lands without a valid Special Recreation Permit vist our Report a Crime page.
