Proposed Book Cliffs Coal Lease by Application Project Description

CAM–Colorado, LLC (CAM) is proposing to lease federal coal reserves located approximately 15 miles north of Fruita, Colorado in Garfield County.  CAM submitted a lease by application (LBA) in September of 2006 for 11,735 acres that was later modified to 14,466 in 2008 during the BLM draft tract delineation process.  BLM determined that, if this coal is to be leased, it would be by a competitive bid process.  BLM will be reinitiating public and internal scoping to develop alternatives for the tract size and location in early 2013.
