Directives

Instruction Memoranda and Information Bulletins are Department-issued guidance on policy, procedural, and informational items of interest to a broad audience of individuals. Instruction Memorandums (I.M.s) provide new policy or procedural instructions which interpret existing regulations, policies, or instructions. Information Bulletins (I.B.s) are used to disseminate information of interest to BLM employees. I.B.s do not contain BLM policy, directive, or instructional material, and are used to transmit material such as publications and announcements or call attention to existing policies or procedures.
