Abstract:
This ArcInfo coverage is a result of a mapjoin done in ArcInfo. Data set includes two ArcInfo coverages: "mdo_nca" (aquired 10-6-00) from montrose GIS server and "colocyn_nca" (aquired 9-22-00) from grand junction GIS server. Data compiled at 24,000 scale and captured at 24,000 scale. Data were captured and processed using ArcInfo.

Boundaries for Colorado Canyons NCA were derived from existing digital sources (Planning Area Boundaries (1:24k), land status, transportation) All lines were snapped to GCDB where coincident.

Boundaries for Gunnison Gorge are assumed to be (1:24k) accuracy.

Purpose:
The data is intended to be used for resource planning and land planning decisions.

The "NCA_CASEFILE" field contains to the serialized case file number for
each National Conservation Area. At this time Colorado has not assigned a
serialized case file number so the filed has been left blank.

The "NCA_NAME" field contains the name given to the polygon and/or 
National Conservation Area. In this case the only valid values are: 
(Colorado Canyons National Conservation Area) and (Gunnison Gorge 
National Conservation Area). Inholding polygons should be labeled 
"inholding".

The "NCA_STATE" field refers to the administrative State for the National 
Conservation Area. In Colorado's case the value should be "CO".
