So how do I get GCDB data?

Colorado GCDB files will now be served by the National GCDB site. Navigate through the "GCDB Data - LSI" button and the "Download Data" selection to the interactive graphic of the west. After selcting the required townships graphically or with one of the provided tools, pick either the "SHP" or "Flatfile" buttons in the lower left corner for download.  The flat files are the ones Colorado web site uses to serve. This site also has Arcinfo Shapefiles. The site will ZIP all the selected data into one file for download.

GCDB files are still considered work in progress and are posted here to simplify data request. Documentation for the files is available in HTML format and PDF format.

Colorado GCDB has developed a utility program to take a GCDB LXfile and make a DXF file that can be imported into AutoCAD or other software packages. The LX2DXF utility comes in DOS and AIX flavors (updated 09-22-98). All Lx files are to be named LXtownship or ttownship.lx. The LX files are supplied as arguments. So correct usage for T. 7 N., R. 99 W. is:

    lx2dxf     lx7n99w        or
    lx2dxf     t7n99w.lx

To create layers based on reliabilities, use the "r" option.

        lx2dxf    t7n99w.lx    r
