A REQUEST FOR SURVEY IS ISSUED

Requests for surveys are usually submitted by Federal or Indian land managers or private citizens. Request can also originate from other various sources, such as:

  • Congressional Orders
  • Court and Executive Orders
  • Special and Congressional Acts
  • Cooperative surveys

Requests include the following information:

  • Purpose and scope of the survey
  • Detailed special requirements
  • Source of funding and method of payment
Such requests initiate the permanent recordation of the survey.
