Field Services
Colorado is divided into three geographical areas of field surveyors.  These areas are identified as the Northwest Colorado Team, the Southwest Colorado Team, and the Front Range Colorado Team.  These teams consist of professional land surveyors responsible for the operations of the Bureau of Land Management Cadastral Survey function within their assigned areas in the State of Colorado.  Since surveys and resurveys of the Public land Survey System have a wide effect on the local economies where they are performed, these professionals are required to have an in-depth technical knowledge of the theories, concepts, and principals of cadastral surveys and boundary determination required by both Federal and State law.  The individual members of each team are the frontline contacts for the Cadastral Survey program and are one of the main technical experts available to discuss and explain cadastral survey and land boundary problems to the general public.

Each Teams areas of responsibilities.

The Northwest Colorado Team is responsible for the Cadastral Survey program in the northwestern area of Colorado. The geographical boundaries of the team generally correspond with the administrative boundaries of the Glenwood Springs Field Office, Grand Junction Field Office, Little Snake Field Office, Kremmling Field Office, and White River Field Office.

The Southwest Colorado Team is responsible for the Cadastral Survey program in the southwestern area of Colorado. The geographical boundaries of the team generally correspond with the administrative boundaries of the Uncompahgre Field Office, Gunnision Field Office, San Juan Public Land Center, and Ute Mountain Project Office.

The Front Range Colorado Team is responsible for the Cadastral Survey program in the areas east of the continental divide in Colorado. The geographical boundaries of the team generally correspond with the administrative boundaries of the Royal Gorge Field Office, La Jara Field Office, Saguache Field Office, and those areas east of the continental divide where we are requested to perform federal surveys.
