Escalante Canyon ACEC 

Location:   Northwest District, Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, Delta County

Size:   1,895 acres

Designated:  1989 Uncompahgre Land Use Plan

Land Manager:   Bureau of Land Management, Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area


Contains threatened and rare plants Sclerocactus glaucus (Threatened) and Mimulus eastwoodiae (Sensitive), unique plant communities, and significant geologic interest.  Escalante Canyons is also a Colorado Natural Area under the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
