Location:    Front Range District, Royal Gorge Field Office, Chaffee County

Size:    705 acres

Designated:   1996 Royal Gorge Land Use Plan

Land Manager:    Bureau of Land Management, Royal Gorge Field Office



Droney Gulch is a sparsely vegetated region with light brown hills and highly erosive steep slopes, which characterize the landscape. Droney Gulch ACEC protects the Brandegee's Buckwheat (Erigonum brandegei), a BLM Sensitive Species.  In June 1999, the Colorado Natural Areas Program designated the unit as a Colorado Natural Area.
