McInnis Canyons Advisory Council to Meet This Week
GRAND JUNCTION, CO – The McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area Advisory Council will hold a meeting at 6 p.m., on Thursday, May 7 at the BLM Grand Junction Field Office, 2815 H Road, in Grand Junction.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the future structure of the Advisory Council. The group was tasked with providing advice during development of the Management Plan for the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness. Since its designation as an NCA nine years ago, the McInnis Canyons Advisory Council has been providing guidance and advice on public land planning and management within the 122,300 acre NCA.
Members will consider the future of the council now that the NCA management plan has been developed and is being implemented.

The McInnis Canyons NCA was designated by Congress in 2000 to protect and conserve its outstanding geologic, paleontologic, cultural, and recreation resources.
