BLM announces new Colorado
Front Range District Manager
Lakewood, Colo.--Greg Shoop has been selected as the District Manager for the Bureau of Land Management’s newly created Colorado Front Range District. He will start in his new position in late June.
Shoop is currently a senior mineral leasing specialist in the BLM's national office in Washington, DC. His experience includes work in the private sector, as well as BLM's Colorado State Office and BLM's Craig field office. Shoop is the second of three district managers who will be hired in Colorado.
"Greg's experience in the private and public sector will make him a tremendous asset for Colorado's Front Range District," BLM Colorado State Director Sally Wisely said.
The Colorado Front Range District will be based in Canon City and includes the Royal Gorge Field Office and BLM offices in the San Luis Valley.
“I am looking forward to my new position and the challenges facing the BLM along Colorado's Front Range and San Luis Valley,” Shoop said. “Personally, I am very happy to be returning to the great State of Colorado. And professionally, I am very excited to be able to contribute to the best possible management of the public lands and public lands resources in Colorado's Front Range District.”
