Wildland fire informational open house scheduled

GLADE PARK, Colo. — The Glade Park Fire Department in collaboration with the Upper Colorado River Interagency (UCR) Fire Management Unit, Colorado State Forest Service and the Colorado National Monument has scheduled an open house at the Glade Park Fire Station at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2007.  The 2007 fire season is upon us, and the public is encouraged to attend the open house to be briefed on several issues related to wildland fire, as well as how to create a defensible space around their home. 

“We’re really counting on folks to attend this public meeting,” UCR Fire Mitigation Specialist Doug Paul said.  “This will be a great opportunity to have everyone in the same room to ask questions and learn about this year’s strategy for reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires in the Glade Park area.”
