Southwest Resource Advisory Council to meet

MONTROSE, Colo.—The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet April 20 at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 1391 S. Townsend Avenue in Montrose.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to adjourn at 4 p.m.  The meeting is open to the public, with a public comment period scheduled for 2:30 p.m.  Agenda topics include:

· Field manager updates
· BLM’s Healthy Lands Initiative
· Lower Dolores River: leasing, mining, planning activities
· Uncompahgre Field Office Travel Management Plan
· Update on BLM Colorado’s Recreation Strategy
· Update on uranium mining activities

The Southwest RAC is one of three advisory councils to BLM Colorado. Composed of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, individuals serving in each RAC represent a broad range of public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
