BLM welcomes new McInnis Canyons NCA manager

GRAND JUNCTION, CO—The Bureau of Land Management Grand Junction Field Office welcomed Paul Peck this week as the new manager of McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area.

“I’m really excited about the challenges and opportunities awaiting me and my staff in managing this magnificent resource. I look forward to meeting all of BLM’s partners, cooperators and community leaders who work closely with us,” said Peck.

“It’s great to have Paul as the new McInnis Canyons NCA manager,” said BLM Grand Junction Field Manager Catherine Robertson. “This area is one of the many Grand Valley treasures, and it deserves the leadership and broad expertise in recreation management that Paul brings with him.”

Peck added that a few of his priorities are to become acquainted with the NCA Advisory Council, work to strengthen community stewardship for the NCA through a Friends group, as well as to develop a business plan for the area, in which BLM recently implemented a resource management plan.

Peck and his wife have relocated to the Grand Valley from the Cortez area, where Peck was a recreation program leader with the San Juan Public Lands Center, which oversees both BLM and U.S. Forest Service public lands.
